OccupyGhana® expresses its profound gratitude to the hundreds of Ghanaians who solidarized with its call to wear or display any RED coloured insignia in protest to the myriad economic and governance deficits as never witnessed before in our recent history.
While the awareness to reignite the campaign was understandably late and limited to fewer media platforms, we were humbled by the massive show of solidarity in mainstream media, social media platforms and even international media such as the BBC! We are grateful.
However, we would truly like Ghanaians from all walks of life to own this campaign since evidently it remains one of the few platforms to express our collective angst against the deteriorating state of affairs.
We want you to persist with the #RedFriday campaign until your perseverance yields results and then possibly we’d choose another colour white, to signify triumph. Until then, please remember to keep the last Friday of every month as the holy grail for seeking redress and let it be known as #RedFriday!
Our appreciation is best expressed in these endearing words of the hymnist:
“Praise we the wise and brave and strong,
Who graced their generation;
Who helped the right, and fought the wrong,
And made our folk a nation.”
Yours in the service of occupying hearts and minds for God and Country
