July, Debut demonstration

OccupyGhana® was born in July 2014 out of the frustrations of ordinary Ghanaian citizens who felt dissatisfied with the governance of the economy and of the country at large. The Occupy Flagstaff House demonstration of 1st July 2014, served as a
catalyst and a pivot for the coordination of activities, projects and programmes that is now known as OccupyGhana®. It became apparent following the demonstration, that there was a critical mass of well meaning, hardworking, ordinary yet accomplished
citizens, who desired to mobilise through the use of activism and advocacy by making their collective voices heard, to hold government to account on issues pertaining to the governance and administration of the State.
